Backed by Principal Insurance – and returning after a Covid break – the 7th festival will once again be raising much needed funds for Marie’s Foundation.
This is named in memory of Marie McDonagh Clancy whose life was taken far too early by ovarian cancer.
Money raised will assist the foundation’s work in raising awareness of this dreadful disease through local cancer charities.
The organisers, Saoirse Maria MCC, have lined up an impressive weekend’s entertainment.
This includes a host of live bands which are set to rock The Burren Storehouse.
Artists on the bill include the perennially popular Hound Dogs, Big Generator, Hell for Leather and Ciaran Johnston.
They will be joined by acclaimed tribute bands IE/DC (AC/DC) and Abuse Your Illusion ( Guns N’ Roses).
But, of course, socialising aside, Doolin Motorcycle Fest is all about the bikes.
There’s certainly plenty to see and do, two-wheels wise.
Saturday 27th kicks off at midday with the Brothers in Arms run, a rideout in memory of Saoirse club member TJ and the locally loved Declan.
This will be followed by a Custom Bike Show featuring not just precious metal but a variety of stalls. There’ll also be opportunity to get some ink on your skin.
Sunday 28th will play host to Marie’s Memorial Run, with riders assembling midday before running through Doolin and on to the Burren Rideout.
A tasty BBQ will then address grumbling stomachs before the fun wraps up with a tyre challenge, the drawing of the winning ticket for a Harley Davidson Sportster 883 and yet more live music.
The whole thing really is unmissable. If you’re able to head West we’d recommend it. A weekend pass – available on the door – costs just €30. This will give you access to all the craic and a warm feeling inside knowing you’re raising cash for a great cause!
