Moto Morini are back!
Catching our eye among the Italian manufacturer’s new offerings is is the mid-capacity 61/2 Seiemmezzo.
This 649cc machine comes in two versions.
The first is a street orientated machine, the STR.
The second is the scrambler styled SCR.
Putting out 61 bhp, these parallel twins and will be known as the six and a half.
This is a nod to the iconic 350cc Moto Morini from back in the 1970s, which traded as the three and a half.
First up is the STR.
This is the naked offering. It combines an easy going chassis with comfortable ergonomics.
The SCR delivers a more classic look. This is defined by that high front mudguard, the retro flyscreen, and that cooler than cool brown leather effect saddle.
The gold coloured front forks are the icing on the cake.
Both bikes have Brembo brakes and a full Bosch ABS system.
Pirelli tyres are standard with the STRs lightweight alloy rims being shod on a pair of Angel GT hoops.
The SCR, having spoked rims, comes with a set of very cool looking dual purpose MT60RS tyres. These will add a bit more rideability on the trails. Suspension is a fully adjustable Kayaba setup on both the front and the rear.
Both bikes sit on Moto Morini’s own steel frame. This sturdy piece is coupled to an aluminium swingarm.
Quality continues with a set of LED headlights. The seat height sits at 810mm.
Ergonomics differ between the two, with the SCR running 70mm wider ‘bars and a more relaxed seating position than the sportier STR.
A 5” TFT full colour screen is complemented with a set of backlit controls on the switchgear.
This provides the rider with all the information they need. As a result of using this tech, both can be connected to a smartphone through the integrated Bluetooth system.
Both bikes will be available in both full power and A2 friendly versions.
The new range will be available from BarconMoto in Macroom. Prices weren’t available as we went to press. Give Shane a call on 02668000 or see www.barconmoto.ie for more details.
